About Us

The Club was formed at a meeting of retired men held in St. George’s Church Hall on 1 February 1973 when the 20 men present approved an outline constitution. The first meeting of what was Jesmond Senior Men’s Club was held on Thursday 15 February 1973.

Over the years membership has grown to about 90 with an average attendance of 50. Several years ago the meetings were moved to the pavilion of Newcastle Cricket Club in Osborne Avenue.

In February 2022 the Club extended its membership to women and changed its name to Jesmond Seniors’ Club.

Membership is not confined to those who are retired, and visitors are welcome at all meetings.

To join the Club, come along to a meeting and talk to one of the officers. You will be very welcome.
